November Wedding in Ipswich

Sunday the 28th of November saw Fields of Suffolk covering the wedding of Ruth and Steve at Isaacs on the Waterfront in Ipswich, the day's coverage started at Felixstowe hairdressers Forty 7 who opened especially to get the bride and close family members ready. Once hair and make up were done we moved onto the brides house to photograph the dress and shoes before doing a mock leaving with the father of the bride, with these images recorded and backed up, we moved onto the venue to meet up with the groom and best man Wayne and get some images of them before the rest of the guests started to arrive.

The ceremony was at 16.00 so we knew in advance that light would be our motivating factor in how we shot the wedding as well as the cold snowy weather, we used a combination of fast lenses, off camera flash and our newly acquired Lowel ID video light to record the various aspects of the day.

The images of the day are now all safely backed up in readiness for editing.

Our Wedding Day

Samantha and I got married on the 14th of September at Stowmarket Registry Office, we had a wonderful ceremony and the registrars really made us feel welcome. I drove to Stowmarket with my best man Dave in my 1967 Karmann Ghia. The weather was ideal for photography as it was not to sunny and our photographer Pat has already edited some stunning images which you can view on Pats blog here Pat B Wedding Photography

Sam and I then left Stowmarket for the journey back to Felixstowe and our reception at the sailing club Felixstowe Sailing Club(a massive thank you to Mary for organising all the decorations and making everything look so great).

There after a tasty wedding breakfast provided by Denise at Ruby's Ruby's Kitchen we partied the evening away with friends and family.

Its the 'small details' that count on your Wedding day

Capturing the small details are just as important on your wedding day as capturing the main photographs.
Thats why Fields of Suffolk Photography always have at least two photographers on hand to ensure all the time and special effort you have put into your table decorations, flowers and favours are recorded. We understand the importance of these 'small things' and the thought that goes into choosing and co-ordinating them so that everything looks just right.
These images also provide wonderful memories and contribute to the overall presentation of your wedding albums for years to come.

Rocking the Frock

Wednesday evening saw us out with Leanne and Sam for a Rock the Frock session, also know as Trash the Dress and Fearless Bride, the session is designed specifically to take the bride (and groom) away from the normal and mostly formal settings of the wedding day and funk up the images. Sam and Leanne were wicked to work with and were both naturals when it came to getting exactly the photographs we wanted. We did this shoot in Trimley only five minutes drive from the studio and used local fields and a disused barn to get the shots. The weather was changeable moving from sunshine to a sudden downpour which really enhanced the available light.

Please contact us via the website http://www.fieldsofsuffolkphotography.co.uk/ if you are interested in a Rock the Frock session we can accomodate all over the Ipswich and Suffolk areas and include shots at the studio based in Felixstowe.

Weddings for 2010

The wedding season has got off to a cracking start and already surpassed our expectations for bookings in 2010 and 2011, with even two confirmed bookings for 2012!. Which we are very happy with especially as we have not done any fairs this year and are relying on recomendations, word of mouth and the website. Heres to a busy summer, I have a feeling its going to be a scorcher........

Photo Studio News

Hello, we are in the final stages of finishing our professional photographic studio in Walton, Felixstowe.
The studio has been six months in the making and has been a long slog through the cold winter months but at last Sam and I are begining to see the light at the end of the tunnel, our chippy has just got the skirtings to finish and a nice beveled step to insert which will join the studio floor to the client area. Then we can finally welcome our first clients in.

Tired but worth it

Sam and I have just got back from finishing the Great Xscape. A charity event in aid of the St Elizabeth Hospice, our team Fields of Suffolk consisting of myself and Sam and friends Simon and Sarah Friston were blindfolded and driven to an unknown location somewhere in Suffolk. Out of twenty teams we managed to get back first and came third overall based on timed runs. The day raised a total of ten thousand pounds and was great fun. A big thank you to Elvis who helped us get a good distance of the way back following us blagging a lift, poor chap had only popped out to his garage for some milk. Hot shower now then back to the editing. Hope everyone is having a cracking weekend.
